When I look back on my real estate journey, it’s hard not to feel a deep sense of pride and gratitude. It all began in 2013, when I joined Cloudstaff as a team member of one of its first real estate accounts, Rental Express (now known as Little Real Estate). That time, offshoring in real estate was still new, almost foreign to the outsourcing industry.
We were a small but mighty team of six, and I was fortunate to wear many hats early on, from handling lease renewals and scheduling routines to managing compliance and quality assurance. I even had the chance to work closely with then COO Brock Fisher, who was just beginning to explore what effective delegation could look like. It was during those formative years that I started building performance and task-based reports, tools we still rely on today to help Office Managers track KPIs and spot trends across their teams. Those early experiences laid the foundation for the leader I’ve become today.
Some of my most memorable milestones include being named Rising Star of the Year in 2015, a moment that validated all the hard work, and stepping into a leadership role in 2016, which reshaped how I view people, systems, and results. In 2019, I had the chance to fly to Brisbane with my co-TL Eryn. We got to meet some of the amazing Property Managers and Office Managers across Queensland. It was eye-opening to see how things run on the ground and to finally connect in person with the people we support every day.
In 2021, we peaked at around 100 team members, driven by a major system change that pushed us to evolve quickly. Today, we’re a tighter team of 43, smaller but sharper, and still growing, still adapting to meet the ever-changing needs of the real estate industry.
Most recently, we had our proudest team moment when we were named Residential Real Estate Team of the Year 2024. That win was for all of us, and it reflects every ounce of effort, care, and commitment from the team.
In over a decade, I’ve had the opportunity to grow, not just professionally, but personally, alongside some of the most dedicated, talented, and inspiring people I’ve ever met. They are the very heart of this team. We’ve seen systems change, processes rebuilt, and challenges that stretched us beyond comfort, but every shift brought new lessons and growth.
A massive thanks to my fellow Team Leaders and our clients (both past and present), the people who’ve made this journey meaningful, and oftentimes, even beautiful. They’ve helped build our family-like culture, served as my sounding board, my support system, and my allies through the highs and lows. Together, we’ve weathered tough decisions, embraced wild changes, and shared some truly unforgettable moments.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned (and one I often share with our Process Leads) is that you can’t please or save everyone. As someone who naturally wants to keep everyone happy, I definitely learned this the hard way. But here’s what I’ve come to value even more: appreciating the little things – a genuine thank you, a small team win, a quiet moment when everything just clicks. Those seemingly small moments? They’re often what matter most.
As we look toward the future, I’m more confident than ever in our team’s ability to take on new challenges, break new ground, and keep growing, together.
Through it all, one thing remains constant: remote leadership isn’t just about being present, it’s about leading with purpose, trust, and people-first thinking. I’m proud to be part of a team that shows up with grit, care, and heart, year after year.
